Arty Stuff

Ok everyone, as promised here comes the arty photos from the trip to Liffey Falls. I'm really impressed considering this was the first real chance i've had to do some cool water flow, slow exposure shots. I apologise for the grey crosses across most of the photos. I'm considering using the photos for stock and I dont want the copyright infringed.

If you have any thoughts on how I could improve any of these let me know. Constructive critisicm is always welcome. None of the photos have been edited in any way yet.

One from Azza. Stoked how well he got this out of a point and shoot and no tripod.

The peaceful little waterhole where the group photo was taken. It took Benny's feet hours to thaw from this place.

Sorry no post processing yet, I think I might be able to get a good widescreen on this one by trimming the crap off the top.

Not bad. An early one, still getting things right.

I love this one. I wonder how it would look on canvas. There is a slightly wider ang version of this one too that might work even better.

The cascade of Liffey Falls...

Smoooooth...

I almost want to jump in... Only thing stopping me is the broken pool heater.

Zen...

A few little trickles make an awesome piccy.

Beautiful pic Benny, summed the place up just right.

Fun Stuff

Well here are the fun pics from the day. Standing in front of 'Big Tree'. Its a 'Browntop Stringybark' or 'Eucalyptus Obliqua' and it stands 50m and 3.39 in Diameter. Pretty humbling to stand next to it.

Benny got inspired so he clambered up the little fella sitting next to 'Big Tree". Anyone remember Dropbears?

Benny and Matt were getting right into the whole Indiana Jones theme. You take these boys outside for two seconds and they turn into children. It takes me at least 5 minutes to do that.

I was surprised after all that they could stand totally still for 4 seconds to get a time lapse shot. I was really surprised when this actually worked.

10 seconds to press the button, jump across the water and onto the log without falling in. Stoked...

Night time photos in Launceston

Went out for a few night time long exposure shots in Launceston. I was having massive problems trying to get the auto focus to give me some sugar. Oh well, out of the 15 or so shots only 2 were any good... (sort of anyway)

The camera could not get any focus on these tree's. They were quite bright as well. Still looked awesome.

Screwing around when the camera refused to behave. I thought this one was pretty cool though.

Well I worked my arse off last night getting the mailing list/subscription form up and running (with the help of Dave). All you have to do is enter your email address into the bar at the top, you'll then recieve a confirmation email to which you have to reply to. I'll build up a mailing list and email you all when a new post goes up.

Ciao!

Sunday Session at Benny's

Benny...

Me....

Breyley...

The cat i've named Hoover. If this is your cat could you please feed it once in a while?

Cool Tasmanian Sky, the prelude to a nice cold front coming in...

The residence of the beer... :) ich liebe Bier...

Tassie 12 Hour race

Well the Tassie 12 hour was on for the third time and this year (due to a collapse of team) I had to enter solo. It was a beautiful day, hot in the morning and cooling off rapidly in the afternoon. Due to a complete shutdown of my legs and fitness and piked out very early, to my total disgust of myself.

Heading out for another lap.

Dave screeming by on one of his 12 laps of the day. Solid effort by him all day riding constantly. He had some competition early on when Cul was chasing him until a stick went through and snapped four of his spokes.

Big thunderstorm and cold front coming through cooled everything off and gave everyone a quick shower.

This is me totally destroyed at a time in the race that I wont mention. I have to do some training for the 6 hour at the end of the year.

Moral of the story? If you haven't ridden in 2 months dont just jump on and expect to do a decent job in a big race event.
